The Backtracker Rail Pass provides unlimited journeys on the entire CountryLink rail and coach network, including getting to Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney.
Valid for consecutive rail travel purchase either 14 days or 1, 3, or 6 months
Travel in Economy or First Class.
The Backtracker Rail Pass includes a minimum of $40 in CityRail vouchers including access to Blue Mountains and Bondi Beach.
Unfortunately this pass is not offered in conjunction with travel on Sydney City service, Brisbane City Train services nor Melbourne metropolitan service.
Travel on Sydney CityRail services is only allowed in conjunction with a connecting CountryLink service
Travel is not available on Brisbane Citytrain service and Melbourne metropolitan services
Use of the pass must begin within six months of the date of issue and be completed within the validity period from the first validity date
The Backtracker Rail pass is only available to foreign passport holder. Clients should be advised to carry their passports with them at all times as railway staff may wish to check it against the passport numbers endorsed on the pass
A travel “day” is a period of 24 hours, or less, from the scheduled departure time of a service. Eg, an overnight trip 2100/0900 is regarded as one “day”
