The 7 Day North and South Island Pass with Ferry journey includes unlimited travel on the Overlander (Auckland-Wellington), TranzCoastal (Picton-Christchurch), TranzAlpine (Christchurch-Greymouth via Arthur's pass) and the Interislander Ferry (Wellington-Picton) as an additional option. It is designed for independent travellers who want to get the best out of their New Zealand holiday and experience rail travel. Users can choose their own route, stop when they like and travel as many times as they wish within the validity of the pass which provides genuine savings off the standard adult fare, so the more you travel the better the value.
