A ticket or a railpass will get you on most trains, however it does not ensure a seat. Reservation & supplement fees are not included in the price of your pass. Reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance (90 - 120 days on some services) of travel or at the train station on the date of departure. Most high-speed and all overnight trains require reservations, including many of the trains in France, Spain and Italy. In order to avoid a possible fine on board, we strongly recommend that you make a reservation in advance. Night train accommodations are not included with any railpass and should be purchased separately. Reservations can be made at a train station, or by calling us on 1 888 RAILPASS.
A reservation will ensure that you have accommodation on a certain train when you want it. Information on seating can be obtained when making your reservation. More information on seating can be obtained during the booking process, when making your individual train reservation.
PLEASE NOTE: When you book your passes & tickets online, we do not charge a processing fee (excluding tickets where a supplement is charged). However, all bookings made through our National Call Center are subject to processing fees of $15.
